The intercultural education: the challenge of the unity in diversity

Abstract

This article has as a central purpose reflect on interculturality and its relationship to education. The thematic approach is made in three times. First, it develops an general understanding about multiculturalism with certain characteristics, in particular, the issue of identity because that cannot be recognized to the other without being recognized yourself. In a second moment, reflection is directed towards intercultural education based on the guidelines of UNESCO, finally pointing out certain educational criteria to develop multiculturalism in the classroom that will generate competencies in the students.
