Abstract

Este trabajo recoge los resultados del diseño e implementación de un sistema de información geográfica que apoyará en la toma de decisiones al Departamento de Bienestar Estudiantil de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, ya que se ha desarrollado una herramienta que facilita el análisis de la situación socioeconómica de la población estudiantil. Se logró integrar los datos alfanuméricos que los estudiantes registran en la encuesta con la localización geográfica de residencia, lo que permite generar mapas con variables estadísticas que ubican a los estudiantes en quintiles y así poder tener un detalle de cómo se encuentran distribuidos en diferentes zonas de la ciudad de Cuenca.
